After much mental debate of whether to get the Motorla ATRIX or the Samsung Infuse, I ultimately chose the Infuse due to its absence of MotoBLUR and beast cameras (1.3 MP front-facing, and a bonafide 8 MP rear-facing that shoots up to 1080p video at 30 fps - WOW?!). The ATRIX is rumored to be faster than many notebooks and the most powerful phone in the world (so far ). I will be upgrading this summer when the Infuse comes out from an iPhone 4 - I don't think Apple will be releasing a phone this year that will outdo the Infuse or the ATRIX. So, what does everyone else who knows about this stuff think? Did I make the right choice in the Infuse over the ATRIX? I'm actually going for the Inspire when it comes out Sunday, it's perhaps the least powerful of the three, but HTC Sence is the best Android UI out there and it's still plenty fast. I'd be waiting for the ATRIX if it wasn't for MotoBLUR.
Precisely. I've never actually used a Motorola phone (nor a Samsung, for that matter), but I've heard many, many bad things about BLUR and how restricting it is. Guess i'll stick with the Infuse then
Same. My last Motorola phone was some old flip phone before the days of smartphones, even before the RAZR, and it was a piece of shit. I'm not adverse to trying a Moto Android phone if it didn't have blur, but I've heard awful things about it. HTC Sense is the best from what I hear, so that's why I'll be getting the Inspire. My Nexus One is long in the tooth, I'm upgrade eligible and it's a hell of a phone for 100 bucks.
I haven't heard anything on the price for the Infuse 4G, but I'm hoping/expecting it to be around $200, like the iPhone, with a new 2-year contract. I actually took the iPhone 4 using my sister's contract, because mine doesn't expire til this summer, lol. I needed the iPhone 4 right away though I'm rather bored of it now. I downloaded nearly $10 worth of apps yesterday, and I'm still bored. I've never actually USED an Android phone, even to mess around, but I hear it's much more loose than iOS. The 8 MP camera sold me.
I just got the Inspire this weekend, and at $100 (80 at Costco if you're a member) this phone is an absolute STEAL. I'm not so sure the Atrix or Infuse are worth the extra money.
It's a shame, the Atrix could be a revolutionary phone, but Motorola (with some input from AT&T) are ruining it with crappy, locked down software. The HTC Inspire was crapified by AT&T but the hacking community took care of that. Motorola locks and encrypts their bootloader so hacking it and removing their bloat and restrictions are very difficult. The Inspire was hacked and de-crapped before it even officially came out on Sunday.
