This is something that disturbed me while I was out with a few friends yesterday. Max' (my best friend) Classmate stops to look up to the sky while we were going to go get something to eat. all of a sudden he's all: "does anyone know what just happened?" Everyone was making random guesses as to what He had just 'done'. All of a sudden, I just randomly joke: "You were listening to dead people" and he actually said yes. He rambled on about how his dead father was talking to him and he went on about how his father died 3 years ago. I was very sorry for his loss. But to me He was just wanting attention. It's not even just that. He's really annoying for being 19 years old and for some reason he makes some jokes I would expect from my 4 year old cousin. Now I didn't make this thread for anyone to bash this person...or any other person for that matter. But I'd like to have opinions. Do you think he's kinda...messed up from the loss of a parent. Or is he just trying to make up for the lack of true friends by making people feel sorry for him and what's going on in his life? I'm asking, because this really scared me a little when he did that out of the blue.
i have the same same same exact friend. i trusted her for one year and gave her my all, but then i've given up. they don't change.
I'm gonna have to go for attention seeking... Maybe he feels that people are forgetting about his loss, but he still needs help. But yea, the whole attention seeking thing annoys me, if someone needs to talk or whatever, they should just ask.
Yeah, I agree with that for sure. But that is really random and odd, stopping there out of no where and saying that. Ask him what he says next time or something, it might give you more of an idea what your friend is thinking/why he is doing it. Just try be as supportive as you can, I just hope it doesnt get too annoying for you.
Why don't you have a private talk with him, a nice chat, about whatever he feels or whatever. Maybe if he gets it out of his system, he won't say such things.
