I've only listened to a few tracks but at the moment it seems essentially like Thom Yorke is wanking furiously while lying on a microphone.

    Discuss. Or rather, agree.

I'll tell you why it deserves its classic status: The National Anthem.

    I found it too artsy.

Apart from Everything in It's right place it just seemed a bit much for me.

I imagine Thom thought "Well if everyone loved Street Spirit where I was barely coherent, then how about I take that one step further and lay it over some crazy electro-wank chords".

Has nothing on The Bends i'm afraid.

I would agree that the majority of the album is just them wanking, figuratively and possibly literally.

OK Computer is my favourite album of theirs.

OK Computer's good. Still a bit wanky, but far less than Kid A.

I'm liking Subterranean Homesick Alien at the moment. Someone told me Let Down was the most beautiful song ever.

Needless to say I was a bit let down.

    I'm sorry.

Yeah, the wankiness is balanced out a bit more on that album. It's a nice cross between Kid A and The Bends I think.

Kid A was too artsy, and they've sinced veered away from that path. My order of preference would be:

    1. Hail to the Theif (The first few songs are especially excellent)
    2. In Rainbows
    3. OK Computer
    4. Kid A
    5. The Bends (too generic for me)

I recall enjoying Kid A much more the first few times I heard it, but it wears off pretty quickly. Everything In It's Right Place is still one of their best songs, though (imo).

OK Computer is still their best.

My top 3 is probably the same as yours, only with OK Computer at the top. I have no idea how to order the other four.
