sorry if this has been answered before. i searched but could not find an answer.

which content management software does lpassociation.com run off. i've been trying to pick one for a few days, now.

i've been looking at xoops and postnuke. both are free, but i am willing to pay for one. i've always liked the look of this site, and while i'm not going to bite your style, i would like to know which one you use.

I'm pretty sure LPA is customly coded.

i'm sure it's customly coded, but the content management system let's them update the site without having to hard code everything. there's a thread called "php" from awhile ago, where someone mentioned that they use php with their content management system. they just didn't say which one. i'm just looking for a good one.

Like Tomi said, I'm pretty sure LPA is completely custom, no third-party management systems currently run LPA if I'm not mistaken.

...do you know what PHP even is? It's a scripting language.
[by any chance, are you my computer science AP teacher? rofl.]

The way the site works is that it's all customly coded and that for the front page, it had a code that extracts information from IPB's ssi.php file so it grabs information from the LP News forum. Not sure if they use the SSI++ mod, but I know ssi.php is most likely involved.

Everything except the forum software is custom.

    Nope ;)

Alex wrote his own code to get the news. Which was a waste considering ssi.php is available, but whatever makes him happy.

MySQL query to get the posts from the news forum, loop through the results, format and display. Uber easy.

Yeah, I guess, but I'm not even sure if ssi.php was available with IPB 1.1

I don't know either, it probably was though.

Do you know what's more efficient; Alex's method or ssi.php?

Um, it should be the same. Alex's method uses one mysql query and a loop. I would imagine ssi.php uses no more
