Image credit: @radnomadvisuals on Instagram Linkin Park started the year of touring 2025 in Mexico City, and now they return to end it at the Corona Captial festival in Mexico City! Linkin Parks history in Mexico City starts all the way back in 2002, 23 years ago! This show was the bands first ever Mexico show, and the second to last show of the Hybrid Theory era. They only played a charity show two days after, and then headed back home to work on Meteora. Funny enough, this 2002 date was played at the same arena that the band headlined at the start of this year, but while they they played as openers for Korn in 2002, in 2025 they headlined the 65k capaicty arena by themselves. Complete with heckler commentary In 2012, on the LIVING THINGS cycle, the band returned to Mexico City for their first show in the city for ten years, bringing with them some specialities just from that era. The show opened with TINFOIL going into 'Faint', 'IN MY REMAINS' was played, so was 'LIES GREED MISERY' and 'VICTIMIZED'. Victimized was mashed up with 'QWERTY' for a truly special mashup for the LIVING THINGS touring cycle. The show ended with the fan favourite mashup of 'Bleed It Out' with the 'Sabotage' bridge. Bring back the DSP program please Ten years ago, back in 2015, Linkin Park played some North American shows before heading out on their 2015 China tour. This show and the show in Monterrey two days after were the two first shows that the band headlined since January when Chester unfortunately broke his leg and had to cancel the remainder of the tour, so the band modified the setlist they had been playing during May and other festival shows. Mikes solo portion was replaced by a shortened version of 'Remember The Name' for the first time and 'Points of Authority, Crawling' and 'Final Masquerade' returned to the set. Here's the entire show for you to enjoy. Like I said at the start, the band already played in Mexico City at the start of they year, so let's go through what happened at that show. As it was the first show of they year the band brought out some surprises for the Mexican fans, some dropped songs and some new ones. As for dropped songs, 'LOST IN THE ECHO', 'Breaking the Habit', 'Friendly Fire', 'My December', and 'Leave Out All the Rest' were all missing from the setlist, having last been performed in 2024 and we've never seen them since. But in terms of new songs, we got both 'Good Things Go' and 'Overflow' added to the setlist for the first time as well as the hybrid version of 'Lost'. 'Good Things Go' is now a song in heavy rotation, but 'Overflow' has been a mainstay in the set ever since it was added at this show. We also got our first taste of 'Cut the Bridge' at this show, as the bridge of the song was rapped over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out'. Good Things Go live debut Overflow live debut As for the last show the band played, it was at the final show of their 2025 South American run, in Brasília, Brazil! The day before the show the band had received two Grammy nominations, 'From Zero' earned one for Best Rock Album and 'The Emptiness Machine' got one for Best Rock Performance, something that the band didn't really acknowledge at the show. There was a sign in the crowd that Emily pointed out that said something about the Grammys, and Mike responded with 'oh yeah, that happened'. They really are so humble. There were no real surprises if you've been following along with these posts, no obscure songs or anything new. Mike rapped 'UNTIL IT BREAKS' verse 3 on his solo, and 'A Place for My Head' over the bridge of 'Bleed It Out'. For closing the show, the band went with the combo of 'Heavy Is the Crown' and 'Bleed it Out' for ending the main show, meanwhile 'In the End' and 'Faint' to end the encore. The band is playing a full two hour set instead of the usual 90 minutes they play at festivals, meaning they have room for their full setlist. So can we expect the full set with any surprises in it? Will someone come out on 'One Step Closer' or any other song? With it being the last show of the year for the band, we're lucky enough to have confirmation that this show will be livestreamed and recorded by the festival. This will be just the fourth full show we've gotten to see in full. The show will be streamed by VIX live, but re-streamed on YouTube an hour after. It appears that the video may be geo-locked, but keep an eye out on our Twitter and shoutbox and we'll find a way to watch it.
