I just thought of this earlier today. I can see some meaning of the baby on the cover. I thought that mabe it meant that band was just starting out just like a human starts out as a human since they were kind of starting out back then. Is this true at all or am I talking non sense?

Or it could just be a piece of art that Mike and Joe decided to use as the cover.

The soldier represents the harder side of the band where the insect wings represent the softer side of the band. That's all there is to it. There is no connection between the covers from the EP to the LP at all.

[Edit] LOL... I thought this was the regular HT discussion. Ignore me!

I'm not sure what you mean with that really. But I never really thought of the meaning of the artwork either. If you also see there's the painting of the adolescent, and there's 'a mirror image of that but scary' as they say on frat party. I think it means two things:

One - The meaning behind them having a child as the cover to me I guess basically means. That they're young and are still machuring as a band. Their music is still 'adolescent' and will grow as they progress with their music.

Two - The reflected image of the child, you know that, right? Well, I guess since you see the normal painting and then the mirror image of it. I guess that basically means that their music isn't as it appears or what you may seem or think of it to be. So when they use the name 'Hybrid Theory' people will see and think of what their music is about. It's a hybrid of many genre's.

That's all I pretty much have.

No, its not you. I suck at writing stuff that people can understand. In history class, the teacher asks a question and I raise my hand and utter stuff that only I get and everyone doesn't understand.

That's the way I take it. The baby just starting out and the band was just starting out too. The only other way I could see it, is just Mike and Joe showing off their cool art work as the cover.
