It's not a boxset, it's an album featuring most of the stuff on With The Lights Out... there will be a few "new" songs, but they're all demos, outtakes and such.
The tracklisting for Sliver: The Best Of The Box is as follows: “Spank Thru” (previously unreleased, 1985 “Fecal Matter” demo) “Heartbreaker” (live, 1987) “Mrs. Butterworth” (undated rehearsal demo) “Floyd the Barber” (live, 1988) “Clean Up Before She Comes” (undated home demo) “About a Girl” (undated home demo) “Blandest” (studio recording, 1998) “Ain't It a Shame” (studio recording, 1989) “Sappy” (previously unreleased) “Opinion” (solo acoustic, 1990) “Lithium” (solo acoustic, 1990) “Sliver” (undated home demo) “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (rehearsal recording, 1991) “Come As You Are” (previously unreleased rehearsal recording, 1991) “Old Age” (“Nevermind” outtake, 1991) “Oh the Guilt” (split single w/ Jesus Lizard, 1992) “Rape Me” (acoustic home demo, 1992) “Rape Me” (studio recording, 1992) “Heart Shaped Box” (studio recording, 1993) “Do Re Mi” (home demo, 1994) “You Know You're Right” (home demo, 1994) “All Apologies” (home demo, 1994) B)
I love Nirvana, but I'd never buy this album. It's a blatant cash-in. The sound quality isn't good to begin with, and it's not album material.
so?? where else are the fans gonna get the Fecal Matter songs? it's the holy grail of Nirvana stuff this is a shining light after years of searching....as people suspected Courtney Love has had the Fecal Matter tape for awhile and maybe if she's putting out Spank Thru from the tape then maybe sometime in the future the whole tape will be available.
Yeah Kurt Cobain would've NEVER agreed to this or any of these boxsets. Infact chances are he probably would've had em up for download.

[/b][/quote] You're going to spend $15 just to hear one new song from a demo? And, I can tell you where people will get the song: the internet. I'm as big a Nirvana fan as anyone, but I don't agree with paying money for crap. That's exactly why I didn't renew to the most recent LPU -- I think it's crap. I know about how Nirvana fans hate Courtney Love and suspect her of a lot of crap, and I can't say I disagree... but I won't waste money just for one song that's not even good quality.

So this is essentially With The Lights Out stripped down for the people who don't want to pay $49 for some songs in a cheap, stripped down, crappily-recorded form, when we can get them for $7 in actual studio form?

Well, I was about to say: "Yes, that's completely relevant to Nirvana." But then I realized that you're banned, so my psuedo-sarcasm isn't needed here.
