Ever wonder if those Natla Industries crates at the end of the Bolivia Redux had any significance? Well following a recent spectacle over a leaked trailer of a cancelled Tomb Raider 1 remake project by the original creators Core Design, Eidos have issued the following statement to the press: Interestingly enough, Toby Gard (the CREATOR of Lara Croft who had only minimal influence in Tomb Raider: Legend) is said to be at the helm of this project, having full creative control over the outcome of this remake and its production. No current release date has been set for this remake, but for the fans who enjoyed the complete overhaul that we found in Legend, Eidos' press release is a breath of fresh air in a world of confusion surrounding the reality of this remake. So who's excited?
I'd love to play Tomb Raider 1 again but in a better quality. I'm certainly looking forward to this but I think it might be quite disappointing.
Only thing I'm afraid of is that they'll do what they did in Legend with the deaths. In Legend literally as soon as she died the screen would black out, which is no fun. Everyone is saying they want ragdoll physics and the ability to have lara fall and bounce off of rocks to her death. I for one, are hoping they listen. >=)
It's rumored now that this might not be a remake of tr1. But more like the best levels over the series, redone and revamped. We'll have to wait to see. Reports conflict left and right. Some claim to have insider info that CD is redoing the first two games in one package, others say its 'the best levels of the series' on an enhanced legend engine.
