http://www.vh1.com/shows/events/rock_honors/_2007/performers.jhtml VH1 is doing another Rock Honors show (which shows 4 huge bands covering and saluting iconic bands) and Queens of the Stone Age has been tapped to salute The Prince of Fucking Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne. The other bands will be Keane doing a Genesis cover, Nickelback doing a ZZ Top cover, and Gretchen Wilson and Alice in Chains (I know, WTF?!) doing a Heart cover.
It's funny how this gets announced not long after Josh Homme became the latest musician to piss Sharon off.
Ozzy, Heart, ZZ Top, and Genesis? That's kinda weak IMO, at least compared to last years 4 honorees, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Queen, and Kiss. I'm surprised they haven't done Led Zeppelin or AC/DC yet...and really it'd make sense to induct Black Sabbath before they do Ozzy as a solo artist. Still should be interesting to see, I figured AIC would do the Heart tribute because those 2 groups have been close friends for years. I wonder if they'll throw together another all-star supergroup again?
