I'll be celebrating the holiday of buying expensive shit for family members and getting expensive shit back in return. Oh, and Christmas.
I'll be "celebrating" Chanukhoweverthefuckyouspellit with the family. I say "celebrating" because I'll be participating in the giving and receiving of presents, but I won't be doing any of the religious stuff. Not that my family ever does the religious stuff, but I definitely won't be. My dad's and grandma's birthdays are a few days apart and usually fall right around Chanukah, so typically, we celebrate all 3 at the same time (and they get screwed out of presents usually too Most of us get shit for Chanukah, and get more shit on our birthday. They typically get the same amount of shit that we get for Chanukah, but for them, it's for both) Traditions? Absolutely none. We don't have any
I'll probably spend Christmas Eve with my friends, drinking and partying, as I've done the past two years. Christmas Day my family opens gifts in the morning (unless my mom works, then we have to wait all day), and then we go out to my grandma's house for dinner and gifts at her house. That's really it.
I'll be celebrating New Year, Christmas (ortodox, on January 7th), and what we call Serbian New Year (which is actually the ortodox new year and it's on January 13th). For the New Year's eve I'll be somewhere with me friends drinking and partying and I'll probably be doing that for the second New Year as well. On 1st of January we go to my grandparents' for lunch (sometimes I get there for dinner if I get too drunk ) and they come to our place for Christmas. We usually have a decorated small christmas tree for NY and Christmass but don't exchange presents (my brother and I used to get presents "from Santa" when we were kids but now we're too old and it would look ridiculous ) There are also a couple of slavas in January, so I go to my friends and cousins who are celebrating to eat and drink some more
This thread makes me wonder what I'm going to do in the way of food, being as I became a vegetarian in the past year. If I'm drinking anything Quorn chicken fillets will be even harder to keep down.
I will celebrate Christmas this year as usual. I wake at at some late time on the 25th, and I won't have any presents to open. lol. I will just sit there all lonely with my mum haha. Go to my Grandparents for lunch, there will be 4 of us there and then my stupid sister might come, so we will fight lots. And then, I will come home, get drunk alone and pass out early. haha. Can you tell my Christmas is great, and how much I love it?
