From what I've seen, life is pretty pointless. You spend your entire life doing things that really won't mean much once you die, except to other people. Granted, you could better the world for future generations, but then what are you supposed to do for yourself? It sounds selfish, but you can't just live your life for other people. Even if you don't live your life for other people though, anything and everything you do for enjoyment, etc., is pretty much pointless in the end. I'm not saying that as such you need to stop living and just veg out forever, or off yourself or anything, but that's pretty much how I see it. You either do a bunch of stuff for yourself that you're not going to be able to look back on after a certain point, because you're dead and can't think anymore, OR you do a bunch of stuff for other people, and then you don't get to live to see the effect you've had on them. I know some people would argue that "you'll feel good about yourself knowing you made someone else's life better". Yeah, and then what? You die, and you don't care anymore. Then the people you helped out die, and they don't care. The people they helped out die, and so on. If all we're living for is to better the world for future generations, then I really don't think there's much of a meaning or a point to life, unless there's some great thing that'll happen in the future that we're all working towards. In which case, we're all technically slaves doing something we're programmed to do so that someone else can benefit. And I have no clue if any of that made any sense at all.
If one were to ponder, one would and would most likely come to conclude that there is no meaning to life, because there is so much meaningless of it. It is very trivial of what we do is of any significance or for any reason to do so. So therefore, we know that there is meaningless in life. Yet this does not satisfy us. There must be some meaning to life, and whether or not it's simple or complex. So how would we find some meaning of life? Given some thought, we can conclude that we do indeed, do very trivial things in our life, however, we all have a goal to accomplish the very trivial things to receive the reward out of them. IE: Work customer service jobs, invent stuff, ect. However, if we were to stay in this thought, then everything is essentially pointless. This pattern of doing trivial and pointless things is very apparent in ourselves. So therefore, I believe we are instilled with some sort of desire that we deeply wish to have. Otherwise, life IS pointless. So inevitably, the meaning of life comes from within us. In what meaning we give to our life. And within that meaning, is what we deeply desire and actually accomplishing/receiving this deep desire in our life.
The meaning of life is to actually ask "What is the meaning of life?" and to question that thought. Is it really the meaning you want to know? You edit the question until it comes to "What is the point of life?" After coming to that inquiry you then amend it to "What is the point of my life?" After a long cycle of pondering and searching you come to the conclusion that there is not a point to your life at all. You live, you die. There's only two things you have to do in this world. You have to Live in order to Die. So living becomes the purpose and the point. You make your own "purpose" after that.
Reaching potential. Being bold enough to make key decisions in your life and learn from the mistakes that follow while passing all the knowledge you learn along the way to the inexperienced. But that's just one point in what could be a 20 page essay on the subject from me lol.
Its pretty much to learn and to love other than that most things only give temporary enjoyment. on another note, sex is also the meaning of life. it is awesome
While my religious beliefs may go against what I think.I believe that there is no true point. We just happened to be the fastest spermy lol. People may like to believe there is a point I dont think so. I just want to get the most I can get out of my life. to say I enjoyed my time on earth. Thats what I'm aiming for. I think that is what everyone wants
