Linkin Park makes their glorious return to Sweden for the only Nordic show on the From Zero World Tour! (Suck it, Denmark!)

It has been six years since the last time Linkin Park played a show in Sweden. With only two shows in the country, and both of them being played in the Ericsson Globe, this makes it the first festival show that the band will play. I hope. The band has a bit of a bad history with playing festivals in Sweden, having been scheduled for the Hultsfred festival in both 2003 and 2008. Both shows had to be cancelled, the one in 2003 had long notice due to the band cancelling their entire Europe tour due to Chester injuring his back, In Flames stepped in and took the bands place. The show in 2008 was cancelled with 3 hours notice, Brad couldn't fly from Finland due to an ear infection. The show afterwards in Bern, Switzerland had to be cancelled as well.

But let's talk about when Linkin Park actually DID play in the country instead. Their first successful show came in 2007, just a few days after the release of Minutes to Midnight. This was the second show of that European tour so it brought with it the second performances of Leave Out All the Rest and The little Things Give You Away, both songs having been debuted live the show before in Copenhagen, Denmark. This is also the historic show where, before playing No More Sorrow, Mike had a bra thrown in his face. These days it's much more common to see bras thrown on stage at Linkin Park shows, maybe we can get a repeat of it? You can see that incident below.

In 2011 the band came back, not playing anything new, but delivering a hell of a performance.

In 2017 the band finally got to play a Swedish festival, where they took the stage at that years (and currently last ever) Bråvalla Festival where they headlined along with Martin Garrix and Håkan Hellström. This show brought out the opening ’Talking to Myself’, the only remining song from The Hunting Party; ‘Wastelands’, and the other normal mainstays of the 2017 set, like the, at the time, new live version of ‘Leave Out All the Rest’, the piano version of ’Crawling’, and ‘One More Light’ with Chester performing the song down in the crowd like he usually did. For the first time since 2003, the band brought out the singer Christian Lindskog from the Swedish band Blindside to perform on ‘One Step Closer’.

    “Let’s show these fat Americans!”

At this show the band skipped the normal thing they had been doing during ‘In the End’ on this cycle. Normally they stopped the instrumental totally for a verse or a chorus and just allowed the crowd to sing the full thing acapella, but at this show the band played the full song the whole way through.

So this is the start of the the last leg of the ‘From Zero’ tour. As of right now nothing has been announced after June 30th, so it’s entirely possible that after this tour there will be no more full shows played until the next album comes out. So here’s to hoping that they make it even more special. On the Australia/New Zealand tour the band brought out some long forgotten songs, like the 2017 version of ‘Leave Out All the Rest’. This was likely because Emily was sick, but we can still hope it returns on this tour, even with Emily NOT being sick (please, no one get sick!)

So, are you going to this show? What do you think the band will play? Come and discuss in our forums.

I think there is a chance for something new on this run...

But I feel the band could also secretly be more focused on studio work than live shows prep at this point :linkinpork:
