Linkin Park return to Munich today to begin two From Zero World Tour arena dates at Allianz Arena on Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12. These back-to-back stadium concerts mark the band’s first proper Munich headline shows since 2014 during the thick of the touring cycle for The Hunting Party, just after their first foray back into Bavaria with their headlining appearance at Rock im Park this past weekend. Munich has been an on-and-off part of Linkin Park’s live history since the Hybrid Theory touring days. The band’s first appearance in the city was on March 10, 2001, at the Colosseum supporting Deftones on the Back to School Tour. They returned later that same year on September 21 for a show at Zenith, a date originally also booked for the Colosseum but moved to the larger venue due to high demand. Even beyond their rapid-selling debut album, Linkin Park was proving that they were there to stay with their stage performances. Though much of the band’s European touring was cancelled for the Meteora cycle, Munich wasn’t slated for a Linkin Park performance during the tour at all. It wasn’t until 2008 that the band returned, for the opening date of Projekt Revolution 2008 Europe. The band opened up their first European edition of Projekt Revolution at Reitstadion Riem, joined by H.I.M., N.E.R.D., the Used, and the Blackout. Their next Munich appearance came on June 25, 2011 at Messegelände München Riem, supporting A Thousand Suns. The Munich date closed out the band's short and final edition of Projekt Revolution that summer, performing alongside Guano Apes and Anberlin. That show featured a setlist loaded with that album’s material, with every track but “Robot Boy,” “Wretches and Kings,” and “The Messenger” making an appearance. The band then skipped out on Munich again during the LIVING THINGS cycle, waiting until their next album to return. Linkin Park’s last headlining Munich concert was November 13, 2014 at Olympiahalle on the European Fall Tour for The Hunting Party. The band fired off with a “Guilty All the Same” opening salvo before continuing through the highly-curated setlist representing their discography to date. Though it was on the touring cycle for The Hunting Party that the band last performed a full show in Munich, Linkin Park did visit Munich last year in a different capacity. On May 31, 2025, Linkin Park performed at Allianz Arena for the UEFA Champions League Final Kick Off Show ahead of the final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan. The performance included shortened versions of “The Emptiness Machine,” “In the End,” “Numb,” and “Heavy Is the Crown,” giving the band a global spotlight at the same stadium they are now returning to for two full headline shows. The 2026 headlining first night was announced one day before the Champions League performance, with the second Munich date added only a few days later. With the recent returns of many songs last seen in 2024, as well as the shift in opening song, it isn’t unreasonable to wonder whether “Friendly Fire” or “My December” may finally make their triumphant return - or if we will see “With You” again after the band's performance of it at Rock am Ring in honor of their 2001 debut at that festival. “LOST IN THE ECHO” and “Breaking the Habit” have continued to rotate in and are both in great form, with the latter a setlist staple while the LIVING THINGS cut rotates in and out. With only a few dates left for the world tour, “With You” may have been the last surprise the band has in store for this cycle. Hopes for “Blackout” or “QWERTY” will likely have to wait for the next touring cycle. These shows will cap off the very Germany-heavy run of this last leg of the From Zero World Tour. After two stadium shows in Hamburg and the band's return to Rock am Ring and Rock im Park over the weekend, these double Munich dates will finally put an end to the great fortune of the German people. After Munich, the tour continues to England for Download Festival on June 14.
