It's not backwards at all. A month is a fairly short (and standard) period of time to begin promoting a the lead single to a new album.
Not gonna happen. 1. Standard CD's are 80 minutes. 2. LP aren't exactly know for their 10 minute songs. I think it'll be in the region of 45...
