Despite their 3rd studio release X&Y only being released this year, it seems that Coldplay are already planning to record a new album after the second leg of their US tour completes in April of 2006. Only time will tell just how creative that means.
This is great news. X&Y was one of their most amazing albums, and new material is definitely a good thing. I'm looking forward to the next one.
I'm not a huge Coldplay fan, but I do respect their work... I do hope that when he says "creative" he means it -- I've been waiting for something extremely creative to hit the mainstream for a while now, not some fad wave.
X&Y to me is very different from the mainstream. They try some really interesting stuff that they didnt do on their last two albums, while still keeping the songs pretty catchy. I'd give it a listen if I were you. Hell..Casey did *laughs*.
Chris Martin needs to pull a Lennon and go solo, put out a record, and have his wife and himself nude on the cover. Anyways. I downloaded the album last night, but I'm just now listening to it. I'm all for piano, but I'm on the second song and there's already been to much piano.

Martin says that with every record though, because he's not sure if he'll be able to write another one. It's just part of Martin's perfectionist persona..that's all.
I can't imagine it.....at all. X & Y was an amazing album, and I am hopeful that the next will be good aswell.
I'm a huge fan of Coldplay and I'm so looking forward to this new album. Chris is wierd and God only knows what he's up to with new record. They seem to get better with every album and I hope they will keep the tradition with the next one too.
