so i play this game and absolutly love it so much, post anything about the game, like your level and moves you like, funny costumes and places where to find them, strategy's in the game and useful tips! so just post anything realated to this amazing game! Favorite weapon: go to the north plaza, go to crislip's store and look for the EXCAVATOR, that weapon is crazy good.
ah lol i'm level 12, you can do moves like air kick, A then while in the air you press X also you should hunt down where the chainsaw is
Awesome I saw some clips of it on the TV and some teasers. The thing in the park, to keep grass the short (I forgot the name ) is also funny, but I cant walk with it.
you mean the lawnmower Dean - worth ever penny also get the iron bar, and aim at a zombie and then throw it, it sticks in them and blood pours out of the end until they die xD
Oh God, don't even get me started on Dead Rising. As a horor fan myself, I have anticipated this game since E3 and it did not disappoint! The game is an absolute ride and doesn't get boring (I've replayed it like, 20 times and hasn't gotten old yet). The graphics really show off what next-gen can/will be capable of and the level carry-over system is the greatest aspect of the entire game. Though I must say, the cross-over system makes the game too easy once you hit level fifty. Also, when you get all achievements, 72 Hour Mode is too easy. I am slowly becoming a fan of Infinite Mode over 72 Hour because once you get one specific achievment, it makes everything way too easy. Also, I really hate escorting survivors simply because if you're not used to the AI, it's frustrating. I sometimes just kill them so I don't have to bother with them. I'm level 50, all skills, all achievments, all unlockables and still playing it. I know pretty much every trick to beating Dead Rising so if anyone needs help, I'll be glad to help you. I dedicated two weeks of my free time to this game because I couldn't put it down. To this day I still have a hard time turning it off once I start playing. One hint I definitely suggest to any DR player: Do the "Out of Control" mission when you get it... You'll benefit from it so much later on in the game as long as you do the entire thing. I don't want to give away too much for those who barely got anywhere yet, but trust me on that.
Okay, I need to get back to the security room or something for "Image in the Monitor", but I have to walk through the park and there's a hummer with a big-ass machine gun on it. aaaand I cant kill it I tried going to the gunshop but that guy kills me everytime. Any other way?
yeah the conviects are annoying as hell, and cleatus is mutha f00king pissing off lol. Kaeton - oh master will you part your wisdom to use simple peasants on how to kill cleatus (the guy in the gun shop) EDIT: i am now level 15!
Well it's been awhile since I was a low level but from memory, this is how I believe I beat the bosses. To kill Cletus: First off, remember to bring a lot of health since the shotgun can pack a punch even at a distance. The best thing that worked for me was hiding behind the racks in the store (the white stands). Hide behind them to block the shotgun shots until he has to reload. When he does, move up with the rack, drop it until you're close to the gun rack where Cletus is. Wait for a reload, jump behind and grab a sniper rifle. If Cletus grabs you, he'll throw you over. From here you can either hide behind a rack and snipe him out or you can exit the store opening the left door and hide behind the right. The right door will not take any damage and is probably easier to hide behind than the racks. All that's left is to position yourself so that your aim is in favor and Cletus won't be able to get a shot off of you. Hiding behind the door is the easiest way to exploit this because it's pretty much like he can't see you. He'll pace back and forth and sometimes take a drink of wine. If you run out of ammo, the only thing I can suggest is you either redo the mission or try and grab the second sniper rifle in the store. It'll also help if you have bees to clear zombies that respawn by the doorway, but other than that, it should work. That's how I beat Cletus the first few times. It takes work and patience, but ultimately, that's what all the psychos in Dead Rising require. As for the convicts: They're pretty easy. There's two ways to get past the convicts. Either run along the walls of the mall as close as possible (for some reason unless you run into the convicts, the convicts will not follow you), or you can simply trap them. If you notice, the convicts are horrible drivers and they drive aimlessly half the time. Go near the area of the park where there are a ton of trees and lead the convicts there. The convict jeep will get stuck in between a few trees and it's there that you can pick them off if you have a gun. Be sure to take out the gunner first. After the gunner dies, it's smooth sailing... Just shoot the driver and passenger. Taking their jeep after you kill them gets you an achievement and also, you can take the gun off the jeep and actually use it. Some extra perks of overcoming the convicts. You can also escort a survivor in the jeep if the passenger side is free. Oh yeah, and be careful. Every day the convicts respawn (no one knows why), so you'll have to take care of them after every midnight or so. When I first played through, I just stuck to walls. They don't seem to be able to find you if you stick to the walls. If your survivors follow properly, you can escort large groups through the park no sweat by sticking to walls. Finally, if you want to kind of beat the system a bit, make sure to make Quickstep juices. The easiest way to do this is use the blender and add two wines or milks to it. Quickstep is the white colored drink. It allows you to move extremely fast and though it wears off quickly, can help you fighting convicts or psychos. I think if I recall, Quickstep is almost as fast as a car, and you can run through an entire mall area in just a few seconds. Hope these help.
It is. I have a standard television and the text is basically unreadable. I have to sit about foot from my set to make any of it out. However, the text becomes pretty useless in the game anyways since the text only describes a place or mission. Roughly your map will tell you where you have to go, and everything else is pretty much fine. Subtitles are small, but it's got voice overs. The only downside to the small text is that when playing on a normal television it is almost unreadable, but like I said, you get the basic gist of what the text was trying to tell you as you progress. Sadly, Capcom said they won't be releasing a patch for the text size and have basically laughed at us standard television folks saying "we should have bought an HD-TV before buying an Xbox 360"... Jerks. @Chris: Really? Odd. I always run along the walls and they never bother me. I'm sure you're doing it correctly, but just remember to stay as far away as you can (they'll usually be by the Food Court/Wonderland Plaza side if you're entering from Paradise and usually seem to hang around there/get stuck). Keep as close to the walls as possible. Sometimes I use my camera and zoom in quickly around to see if I can make out where they are so I know which way to go... Usually it's easy to spot them since they're the most frantic moving thing in the park.
oh thank you great kaeton, i will try that cleatus thing when i go back on my xbox 360 =) and pfft i thought 15 was a good level until you said you were level 50! xD, meh i'm still much better than all my friends at school ;p EDIT: also people ask me wheat they track is when you walk outside where the convicts are its: Gone Guru - Lifeseeker
I love the Lifeseeker song. The lyrics makes no sense whatsoever but it's fun to kill zombies to. The level 50 thing sounds more impressive than it really is. I beat 72 Hour Mode around level 16 or so. But when you replay to get achievements, you'll definitely level up quickly due to how much PP you'll get while doing them. One in particular especially; gained around 25-30 levels doing it. I'm sad that they capped the leveling, though... I'd have liked to continue leveling past 50 but oh well, lol.
lol i'm level 16 now and on the 3rd case thing. Keaton - OMFG how did you level up 25-30 times doing one thing?
Haha, got to love Quickstep. Well, I don't want to give away how to do it, but take a look at your achievements list... There's one that requires you do a lot of something. I think it's pretty obvious from there. And yeah, that's what makes reaching level 50 a little less exciting, lol. Plus, if you look at the Xbox Live leader boards, you'll notice people obtaining 13 million plus points a game... They're doing that achievement plus using books from the mall to increase the points they get while doing it. Also, that brings me to another good tip for the game: Books are your friends. When you've got the ability to hold your essentials and still have extra slots, I'd suggest picking up a few books to help your game play. For example, picking up Health 1 and Health 2 books (from bookstores around the mall) will increase food by 100%, meaning if a pie only heals one box, it now heals two. If you find the Survivor book, added with the two Health books, that makes 200% of health recovery. A pie that heals one box now heals three. Taking that mathematics and putting it towards say an OJ, just think... You'll only need one OJ to heal you completely no matter what level you are (heals about 12 bars and meat heals 16 bars with just a 100% increase). You'll definitely want to use this method when you venture into other modes and as you progress. This also goes for weapons. A few books will make a certain chainsaw weapon in the game last 27 times longer. It would be around 4,000 kills before it breaks. Unless you're killing every zombie in your way, one (specific) chainsaw will last you the entire 72 hours and it'll be the only melee weapon you need the entire time. That's something to think about the next time you play. Takes a little time to nail this stuff but once you do... The experience is much different. I'd also suggest you use these methods a little later or when you're in a bind because it's much more fun when you don't use all the best methods on the first few tries. It'll get boring.
