The tracklist for underOATH's second album with vocalist Spencer Chamberlain has been released. Here's how it shapes out:

    In Regards to Self
    A Moment Suspended in Time
There Could Be Nothing After This
    You're Ever So Inviting
    Salmamir
    Returning Empty Handed
    Casting Such a Thin Shadow
Moving for the Sake of Motion
    Writing on the Walls
Everyone Looks So Good from Here
    To Whom It May Concern

The album, Define the Great Line, comes out June 11th, 2006 through solidstate.

Judging from the track listing, this is going to be one hell of an album.

    Ironic that I used "hell."

They're saying that a lot of 13-year-olds will be dissapointed with this album, so I'm thinking that they're slowly going back to their roots. I don't know though, I mean after hearing quite a few songs from They're Only Chasing Safety, I'm just unsure of how heavy the new underOATH can be.

You can hear some small clips of what the new album's going to sound like if you watch the video updates they've posted on their Web site. The music's a lot heavier than it used to be, for sure. I don't know if it's as heavy as it was when the band was in its early stages, though.

I finally got to hear some songs from This Runs Through, Spencer's old band. The vocal stylings are very weird, but very unique. They're halfway between a scream and a growl, and Spencer said that he's going to try to use those vocals more on the new album (obviously he's not going to completely abandon straight-up screaming, though).

From the video update and the live new song I have, I must say that this Underoath record will not disappoint.

You reminded me that I've heard three new Underoath songs live. I watched them live twice last year, and they played a new song while they were on Taste of Chaos and two other new songs when I saw them on their headlining run shortly after. All three of them were a lot heavier than anything else they were playing.

Sounds good, I mean They're Only Chasing... was a good album by all means, but their older stuff is much better. It just has a more grittier, rock and roll feel to it.

Plus if it means I can go to Underoath shows without fighting my way through swarms of temo-boppers all the better.
