I was scouring my regular blogs when I came upon this story. Dancing with the stars has brought on a gay man from queer eye, and the transgendered son of sonny and Cher, Chaz Bono. I thought "Oh how cool" seeing as how I'm included in that community (if you catch my drift lol). But then I saw that one website was boycotting the stars. A site called onemillionmoms.com is up in arms over the move. Saying things such as "they are promoting this destructive lifestyle." and "this is completely unacceptable." This makes me soooo angry because when bristol palin the unwed mother was on the show, They said nothing. I delved deeper into the site to find that everything they post is extremist and often bigoted. This all so hypocritical. Jesus once said "let who is without flaw cast the first stone." No one is perfect, especially this onemillionmoms.com site who twists the words of the bible to glorify themselves and indoctrinate others. It's funny how I'm the one who actually follows the most important law of the bible (love and respect) yet I'm the heretic. Can someone explain this to me, because I don't follow their logic.

There is no logic. It's all arrogance and stupidity. Regarding the hating on gay marriage, it will never stop until every person on this earth realizes that being gay is something that's natural. That it's not a choice.

Unfortunately that is just how some people in the world are, they are deluded and filled with hatred of anything that doesn't fit into their morality system.

And speaking of following the bible, of course they don't follow the bible 100%, the bible says that if your daughter is raped and she doesn't marry the rapist to stone her and all kinds of other ridiculous laws. But if you bring that to their attention they will try to go on about how you're suppose to interpret the book or what ever excuse they can find. Though there are some extremely extreme extremist (what an extremely alliterative series of words!) who do try to justify those sorts of things and one recent killed their daugter by beating her to death in the name of God.

Bottom line, you yourself just have to be the bigger person and show the rest of the world that there is absolutely nothing wrong with people who are Pansexual, Gay,Bisexual,Lesbian or Transgendered. You're not going to change the mind of those who are unwilling, but you can save the rest of the good ones from their intolerance.

Ya, I mean, the bible has some really good messages and lessons, and things live by, but as you say, there are some really fucked up points in it, and have to be able to separate that and realize that the bible is the perceived word of God and a lot of it came from the twisted and corrupt rules of ancient society. Most of the "social" rules don't apply anymore

    Too true.

Being straight is as "destructive" a lifestyle as anything else. ;"

It's to do with closed mindedness (My religion -which is not supported by any evidence- is right! Your religion -which I only know through stereotypes- is wrong!) combined that blind, uncritical faith teaches that evil things are actually good things and that you should not question any of this.

But the word "extremist" is not the right word. In the 1830's, abolitionism (the belief that slavery in the USA should be abolished), was an idea that was held by a tiny minority of people who were dismissed as extremists. I'm pretty sure if you go back in time far enough I can bet you could find extremists who believe some women can be as smart as men. Sometimes being the extremist is the correct answer. If you have one side of a debate say we should murder 6 million people of some minority group, and the other side says not to kill anyone, you'd see that compromising isn't always the answer. I'm afraid the misuse of the word might actually stomp on legitimately good movements.

I think what people actually mean by extremist is someone who thinks the ends always justifies the means, a crazy person whose lost sight of reality, or a sociopath with no sense of guilt.

I agree and well, I usually use the word Fundamentalists and other less respectful words. And you do have a point about the word "extremist"
