    Happy Valentine's Day

A sheet of snow blankets the world we see
A cold exterior covers where I want to be
Those icy walls surround your heart
I’ll scream and cry but they won’t part
They freeze the tears streaming down my face
Bind me to this painful place
Outside your heart, not in your mind
But still close enough to be confined
When in your eyes I question my worth
And when you’re gone I regret my birth
It hurts to know you’ll never say
    “Have a Happy Valentine’s Day”

Now we near the middle of February
Time makes my heart grow wary
My voice can’t make it through the rough
    Insecurities scream I’m not enough
Every word you say sounds so cold
The sight of your face makes my hand fold
Shrink inside myself and force a smile
A moment of happiness, but worth my while
And as winter’s domain reaches its end
I close my eyes and pretend
That the icy walls will melt away
And you’ll wish me a Happy Valentine’s Day

Thanks again. And I honestly think you've written far better poems than any of mine. I can't hold my own against your vocabulary.
