In other words, I am pregnant with my first child and I am so damn happy! I didn't know where to put this thread so I am going to put in random. I know the last few threads I made got closed but I would appreciate it if this thread didn't get closed In my sig there is a ticker because I was bored and made it, and I am due around Feb 15 mark. I haven't had my first ultrasound but I will be going for it very soon. The father, my ex, knows and is supportive of me emotionally and financially. The only family members to this date, that know, are my brother and my mother, I am going to tell my father tonight. And tell my sister tomorrow. I've been looking at houses that I can move into with my new bub. I've only found out late this week, and no I don't know the sex of the child. I've already had my prenatal tests and I am all clear for icky diseases. I know it's not going to be easy in the next few months and the months after the child is born. I've already thought about names. If it is a boy - Axle. If it is a girl - Rose. But not sure yet. Just thought I might tell you guys.
Congradulations!!! Best of wishes for a beautiful one. Just a tip for your child, something my mom told me, that you should eat Extremely healthy and balanced. No Soda (Especially diet soda!) or Alcohol. Drink LOTS of water. I mean Plenty! (Like..2 Liters a day!) And try not to smoke, or consume alot of Over-the-counter drugs, like for headaches and stuff. Really do try to walk alot, a Kilometer or half a kilometer a day is really healthy for your child. Given that; I'm sure it'll be the best for You and your child! And Seriously, It WILL help! Be it a big boy or a cute gal; Having a good start for your child is very vital! If anything comes up, I'd Love to hear it! (Or well, I can't say for everyone But I'm pretty sure LPA wouldn't mind hearing some of it )
I've already given up grog AND my smoking and taking Folic Acid tablets. I'll be sure to post the first ultrasound pics in here. Thanks to all who have replied so far! And if you have any advice to give me, please don't hesitate! <3
I have tons of advice Sarah, but not the time right now. One thing though, get prenatal vitamins, they are very important, it has the folic acid and lots of other stuff too. Congratulations though honey, I am so happy for you. If you have any questions you can ask me, since I have been through it twice. <3
Ah congratulations, that's amazing I know babies are pretty common, but still, it's amazing. Congratulations, and best of luck.
Question, how important is Iodine in my diet? I say this cos I was about to get Folic Acid and Iodine tablet in one the other day but it was too much so I just got the Folic Acid tablets. Thanks guys According to my ticker I've just rolled over to 8 weeks.
Iodine is pretty important! Whenever you get water, make sure there's no added fluoride. That stuff is only good for your teeth, not ingestion!
Sarah, you need to get a complete prenatal vitamin, it will have almost everything you need in one pill. The only thing that may be lacking is the amount of calcium, so you should bring your bottle of vitamins with you to your next appt. and ask if you need an additional calcium supplement. I am not sure about the iodine, I don't remember what all was in my prenatals, but if it was necessary, it was in there, as I had prescription vitamins, not over the counter ones.
Not getting that smilie to babysit. Thanks everyone!! @Jen - I'll probs have some money tomorrow so I'll ask at the chemist about the vitamins.
