In the name of many ATS critics

Overall I don't like A Thousand Suns. I admit, I'm disappointed. And I also think HT is a better Album, I am not sure about Meteora or MTM though.

BUT, it has absolutely nothing to do with wanting LP to stay like they were. Or staying in their HT genre. It has nothing to do with it. I also do not reject the sounds, they experiment with on ATS. It has nothing to do with what they have done before, absolutely nothing.
It has only to do with the musical quality of this record. It lacks real innovation, not just experimenting. It lacks coherence. It lacks complexity and subtlety. It lacks ripeness.

I have to stress this point here because there is a tendency in this forum to dismiss all criticism as some kind of conservative LP attitude. As a frustration about the old LP leaving the city. As a misunderstanding about what the album was supposed to be that could be resolved by just accepting it.

It's ridiculous how every negative critic of a magazin or something on ATS is rejected as a haters product who like to bash LP. Its like a reflex action. I don't hate LP or ATS but I am sick of the fans who cant tolerate any kind of criticism of their beloved Linkin Park.
There is no debate going on here in the forums, its not possible. As soon as anybody dares questioning the musical quality of LP, people here are outraged, praising every single snipped of sound. For them its like an unwelcome disturbance.
And it has nothing to do with "differing opinions" I cant accept.

Threads here are stuffed with fans telling each other how awesome LP is. Everything they do is awesome. Can you actually have differianted pro/con debate on ATS?

Are you actually mentally able to produce a sophisticated opinion???
Do you see the shades of grey or just black and white?? And what are they like?

Its ludicrous how you insist on the musical genius of LP, no matter what. LP is far from perfect like most artists, lets face reality!
They have potential, it is revealed on some songs, it is not visible on many others. Thats also true for ATS.

 

Why are you flipping out over the fact that some people actually like this album? Because we like it means we are fanboys? Please stop wasting time posting threads about people who have differing opinions then you. Just because we love this album doesn't mean we like everything they do. A large majority of us didn't like either Meteora or MTM. So please STOP COMPLAINING

@os neutral: Was there even a need to start a new thread, bitching about ATS and the people who actually like it? You seem to say that all negative reviews put out for ATS seem to be rejected by LP Purists, but have you actually read them yourself? Most of them that are out there just seem to be attacking Linkin Park, just for the sake of attacking Linkin Park and are extremely poorly written.
We all know how you feel about ATS is from the previous thread that you started, and it seems like you think that just because people say that they love this album, that their opinions must be wrong, just because they support the band heavily.

 

I dont complain about differing opinions or people liking ATS or LP. Thats also a typical accusation.
There are Albums I really do love but I am too able to criticise it, to look on it from distance and say 'thats pretty good, but thats a little too much this and this is like that and this intro lacks a little of this'

 

Why post three threads phrased differently then? All of them have one common theme and that is "I DON'T LIKE ATS" Instead of posting three threads just make one big thread with that title. I'd have more respect for that

 

It's not about liking or disliking ATS. Its about having forming a differenciative opinion and also speaking it out. Its about the pros and cons not only the pros.
