I've been anticipating this since the first trailer came out last summer, and I just watched it for the first time. Completely blown away. The documentary follows the creators of the games Braid, Fez, and Super Meat Boy, documenting the struggle behind creating something and releasing it to the world. Don't let the title fool you - on the list of what this movie is about, video games really ranks second or third. This film is made by artists, for artists. What it's REALLY about is the artistic struggle; to create something that fulfills you and lay it out for all to see, flaws and all. It deals with self-expression; how you pour your life into your craft, only to have people on internet forums and blogs not really being able to understand what you were attempting to do. Criticism, motivation, destroying and rebuilding, heartbreak, success, every stage of the artistic process is shown beautifully. It's really an emotionally powerful film. I felt the need to share this in hopes someone will be inspired by it the way I was. The film is available at http://www.indiegamethemovie.com/ or on Steam and iTunes. For $9.99, you can buy it and stream it in HD on the site, or download it. Buying it essentially creates you an account to access it.
