Laptop Screen Question

I seem to have a single bar flashing off and on close to the top of my screen on my laptop. It just started happening today. Does anyone know what causes this or what it could be?

It's not a solid black bar or a single color, it's like a fuzzy bar.

Might be a loose connection from the screen cable to the motherboard.

 

Have you recently incurred any damage to the laptop (ie. drop, hit), or did it just start happening out of the blue?

 

My computer never leaves my desk. it just happened out of the blue

 

Dead pixels maybe?
