Linkin Park's touring guitar techs Ben Young and Marc Vangool appear in a new YouTube video for G66, a European distributor which seems to deal exclusively with Fractal Audio gear. Linkin Park has long relied on Fractal solutions both on-stage and in the studio to create or re-create guitar tones. This specific video is part of the long-running Fractal Fridays with Cooper Carter series, where Carter speaks to different guitar techs about their Fractal-based setups.

In the video, Young and Vangool are shown speaking to host Cooper Carter, a self-proclaimed "leading authority on Fractal Audio products", ahead of Linkin Park's Denver, CO show earlier this year, going over the guitar tones used during the band's live performances.

The video begins with Young talking about Fractal Axe-Fx III preamp units, and corresponding software, forming the core of the live guitar setups. He then digs into some of the specifics for Alex Feder's live guitar parts, touching on a wide range of songs including "In the End", "Numb", "Let You Fade" and "Stained", and even demonstrating the effect loop for the end of "Faint" which typically closes out main set. Young, of course, has some experience performing some of these songs, having filled in for Brad Delson for a few shows during the 2014/2015 Hunting Party tour cycle. Vangool then takes us through some of the sounds and effects chains used for Mike Shinoda's guitar parts during the shows, including "Lost in the Echo", a song which Linkin Park has not played once this year.

Both Young and Vangool have previously been interviewed backstage for other publications during the recent U.S. leg of Linkin Park's From Zero tour cycle, with channels like This Is DeLaCruz and Premier Guitar eagerly asking about what goes into delivering the show night after night. Young also previously appeared as a Fractal Fridays guest in late 2023, back when he was a crew member on Fall Out Boy's So Much For (Tour) Dust tour.

Carter makes regular appearances on the G66 channel, in addition to making his own YouTube content and hosting videos for Fractal Audio's various YouTube channels. He has produced content pertaining to Linkin Park for G66's YouTube channel before; in early 2024, he made a video where he speaks about and recreates the iconic guitar sound from "One Step Closer":
