The whole Madeleine McCann issue was okayish-depressing for the first few months. In the end it was just...tiring. Sky News was harping about the whole deal like there was no effing tomorrow.

I know I sound majorly bitchy here, but jeez. They crossed loads of limits on that one.

it will suprise me if the parents had nothing to do with this..

i mean they are bright intelligent people, they should know better than to leave their kids while they go for a meal.. somethings not right IMO - even after all of this time.

The McCann parents make me sick. They are evidently unfit parents to leave their young children alone in their accomodation in a foreign country so they can go and have a meal. Who the fuck does that? And yet for the past year they've gotten so much publicity and have even had an audience with the Pope.

That's absolutely scandalous if you ask me considering that there are thousands of lost children in the world but these unfit parents get the publicity and support. It literally makes me angry when the parents send out messages to Madeleine and plead for support on TV. What about those who wern't unfit parents but have children missing? Where's their television message? Disgusting.

I hate to say it but if the poor girl hasn't returned home after a year then she isn't likely to return home. Whatever has happened to her is her parents fault. Such negligence should be punished, not rewarded.

I do feel sympathy for Madeleine herself. It's ridiculous, though, how her parents are always like "Woe is me, our daughter's missing and the British and Portuguese police are either incompetent or don't care". I've never seen them mention how they shouldn't have left her, and even if they have the volume of pretty much everything else they say outweighs it. And they get praise, publicity and probably even money for it.

Plus the Daily Mail have turned her into their new Princess Diana.

I think the reason that they're getting so much publicity is because they're a middle class family. If it was someone falling below that class then they'd have been destroyed for allowing their kids to stay in the hotel.

Personally, I was sick of the thing from the start and couldn't believe the amount of support they were getting. When the family then had the audacity to demand more funds for the search for her I was livid. No matter how harsh it is I don't think the tax payers should fund a search for a child that's dead (which I believe her to be, especially after this long).

Honestly, the McCann's need to shut up and sort themselves out. For the past year every British taxpayer has been funding holidays for them to Portugal.

It's their own fault she's gone and probably already dead.

Yeah, I feel sorry for the girl but to put it bluntly the parents need to shut the hell up, it's their own fault.

Is anyone here 100% convinced that they actually had a hand in it themselves? I mean, that they set it up or did something to her then tried to cover it up or something along those lines.

The thought has crossed my mind but I can't assume that they did. It wouldn't suprise me if it turned out that way though.

The thought's crossed my mind several times, especially when bizarre holes appeared in their stories.

edit: My mom's bitching because I brought that up.
