Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda appears in a new episode of the Czech Republic television program Hyde Park Civilizace, which concerns itself with scientific and societal issues, with "world experts" invited on as as guests. The weekly show is broadcast on the Czech Television (CT) network, specifically on the ČT24 channel, and hosted by presenter Daniel Stach. It is explained that this interview was filmed while Linkin Park was in the Czech Republic headlining the Rock for People festival back in June.

In the interview, Stach shows that he does his homework when it comes to guests. Shinoda speaks about the evolving collaborative dynamic within Linkin Park (particularly in regards to music videos), and offers his perspective on fellow band member Emily Armstrong, who was introduced to the world as a new member of Linkin Park in September of 2024. Stach also pulls out some "deep cuts": a songwriting contest that Shinoda won at a young age, some of the specific teachers and lecturers he grew up learning from, and his (supposed) familial connections to famous historical figures.

A significant portion of the conversation also focuses on the internment of Japanese Americans in the early 1940s, something which directly impacted Shinoda's family. This eventually inspired "Kenji", a song which appeared on the Fort Minor album The Rising Tied in 2005, and Shinoda also speaks briefly about the creation of that song.

You can watch the 55-minute episode via the CT website here. Hyde Park Civilizace is also available to consume in podcast form, so you can also check out the episode as audio on platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
