I heard about this before. I can understand euthanising certain animals if they can't be rehomed but if they don't even make an effort to do so then... wow. Even without this I sometimes feel almost embarassed that I advocate some of the things PETA also do. Just to clarify, by that I meant that I advocate some things that PETA also advocate. I didn't think to word it better at the time.
I agree with you. I really think that some of the things that PETA does is important, but for the most part, they are hypocritical and rather confrontational. The whole thing about the breast milk ice cream is what really turned me off in the first place, but this? I am speechless, and really disgusted.
I can't find a direct source link for that article, the board I got it from didn't include it either. I'll ask. But here's a NY times article about PETA's crimes against animals being worse than Michael Vick's. http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/25/picking-vick-over-peta/ The article I quoted is all over the internet apparently, but the Consumer Freedom Foundation and PETAkillsanimals.com says the same things.
And more lameness from PETA: Lets force a band that's been around since the 80's to change their name http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/pets/detail?entry_id=38535&tsp=1 and Let's pay to get potholes fixed so KFC doesn't get more publicity http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20090414/ARTICLES/904149954
I fucking hate PETA. I remember reading an article on what the president or vice-president wanted people to do with her body when she died. It was fucked up, anyone else read it? I can't find the link now.
The fact that she wants her body parts given to people is more fucked up. What are they going to say when they get them? 'Oh hey look a new eyeball, just another one to add to my collection'
