    NYERMMMM. PEN MISSILE!!!!

    Ahem. Anyways. I don't really see what killing him would solve. For all we know, it could bring another terrorist attack, in protest of his death.

    I hate to say it, but at this point, killing Saddam would be pretty much useless. Not only is killing him technically giving him the easy way out of his crimes, never having to suffer as he should for his tyrannical behavior, but also doesn't really have any real significance beyond that. The man is old already; he's had his fun as a ruler and despite the fact some people may appreciate that he's going to die for what he's done, the fact still remains he's done it and now that he's had his fun, there's not much else to live for... So his death is pretty much useless in my opinion.

    I'm not saying torture the guy or free him, but I just don't get the significance beyond an extent of personal satisfaction. Kill him? Whoop-dee-doo. That's not going to stop the war or anything. I guess it's good we put a stop to his reign, however I don't see any real reason in trying to celebrate his death besides it possibly being a way for others to feel avenged for those who fell as his command.

    Then again, I'm not a man of politics. From what I see, the man has done the damage, and the payment for his crimes against humanity are weak. Death just doesn't seem justifiable enough and it doesn't seem like it's going to do anything to change what's already been done and what's been going on in the world lately. Any one, please feel free to correct me but from what I skimmed from the article, I see no real changes to come from his death besides (as I stated) anything personal. Who knows, maybe those personal issues being lifted will stop the war. I highly doubt that, but I guess maybe that's why we think it's a good idea to end this man's life?

    I think it's just what he deserves. He's lucky he doesn't get a more painfull punishment than this, though.

    Killing him isn't a very strategic move for the US but they didn't decide to do it. Or am I wrong?

    @Tomi: :lol: lmao.

    His fate was completely determined by the Iraqis. I dont think the US even had a pinch of involvement in this except for capturing him/setting up the tribunal.

    Otherwise I think they just stepped aside.

    A poor decision. Not only will this cause more violence in Iraq, it will likely promote further terrorist attacks on America, seeing as how we captured him. The best option would have been to just let him rot in prison.

    I also doubt that the US had no involvement in this trial, seeing as how it was our "mission" to get him in the first place.

    The best option would be to put him back in power and get the fuck out of there. He held that country better than we can, and thousands and thousands of civilians are still dying. How is it any different with us?

    I agree 100%. This'll just serve to make a martyr of him.

    Great thread title, though.

    This won't solve anything and will just provoke suicide bombings and terrorist attacks.
