The Official Season Seven Supernatural Thread

Thanks to Jared Padalecki's and Misha Collin's Twitter it has been revealed that Season 7 of Supernatural will be hitting US screens very soon. So this is the season's official LPA thread.

 

Here's to hoping something happens this season. I don't even know what I watched last year. Basically just a bunch of nonsense.

 

Well all the 'spoilers' I've read have been pretty vague and useless.

 

How soon? I mean, it hasn't been that long since season 6 ended. But, the sooner I can forget that season the better.

 

It'll premiere in September I'd imagine.

 

You had a problem with Cass becoming the God of all Gods? :0

 

I just think season 5 had a lot more suspense and better episodes on another hand. Maybe i need to rewatch season six in order to like 95% of the episodes. But knowing me I can't wait to see what the Winchester brothers are up to next (and of course Cass).

 

The storyline started to suffer as soon as they introduced angels. Then everything started to get worse and worse. Even the demon storylines of seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4(?) weren't handled that well. I guess I'm realizing the only reason I like this show is because of the "bro-ness" of the main characters. They are written pretty horribly and inconsistently as of late. They used to be given such witty and clever dialogue and were always consistent with their character. Now Dean bitches about something one week and then totally takes the other side and bitches about that the next week. He seems so bipolar you can't even relate to him anymore. And if he mentions "family" one more time and is hypocritical like one minute later I swear I'm done watching this show.

 

Yes, I did in fact. It doesn't seem like a thing his character would do, be all high and mighty and what not. Sure he was an angel but giving the way he was before hand its just no believable. It's a total flip flop and is bullshit, imho. And there were only a few really good episodes on season 6. The season lacked symmetry and just felt like random episodes to me that tried really hard to be pieced together. It didn't feel like a full story.

 

I think the full story part was intended to have something to go on next season with though. Although one of my favourite episodes came from season six (The French Mistake ) I can't seem to wrap my head around Samuel's character presence in the season. I think Samuel killed the season, also along with Balthazar's death.

 

I am still waiting to watch the anime. I think its out. I kind of forgot about it. Haha.

The seventh season of Supernatural, an American television series. The series was officially renewed for a seventh season on April 26, 2011.[2] It will remain on Friday's at 9:00 pm, and will premiere on September 23, 2011.[3]

#1 "Meet the New Boss"
Castiel leaves to take care of Raphael's followers. Dean, Sam and Bobby try to find a way to reverse the effects that the souls of Purgatory have had on Castiel, turning to Death for help.

#2 "Hello Cruel World"
Joshua appears before Sam and Dean, telling them that Castiel has taken complete control of Heaven and is turning his attention to destroying everyone on Earth who does not believe in God. The brothers decide to confront Castiel.

#3 "The Girl Next Door"
A new girl moves in next door to Bobby, and she seems to be very interested in him, Sam and Dean. The girl is named Firefly, and she works for the Order, a secret group opposed to both Heaven and Hell.

Thoughts so far?
Also Padalecki's let loose on Twitter that Ackles has had a shot at directing an episode.

 

Sounds horrible. Almost exactly like last seasons where there is no direction to the plot and people are just doing things to fill up episodes.

 

I'm kinda with you Travz, but at the same time I'm still curious. Although, I do wish they would bring back the Castiel where he was socially awkward to be around.

Cass: Why is that man smacking that girl's behind?
Dean: You don't watch porn while there are other guys around and you do not talk about it.
Samuel (entering): So is this what you do when you're with an angel, watch porn?
Cass: We're not supposed to talk about it.

 

Yeah, at least have the characters be at their best if the story is going nowhere. I can't say there is one character I like on the show now.

 

I think what confuses me about Castiel in this new revelation, the spoilers of course, is the second episode. He's meant to have swallowed everything that Pergutory had in it, and now he's set on destroying all non-believers of God, right? But doesn't that go against everything that Cass has done in the past (i.e stopping the Apocalypse, disobeying Heaven's orders, being kicked out of Heaven)?

I'm a little confused by his motives in this new season, as it's non-Cass like.

 

He considers himself God now. At least that's what I think I remember from the finale last year. And he said he would kill anyone who doesn't believe in him.
