Here's the article: Time Warner Sold EMI Records has once again been jilted at the altar after current fiancé Time Warner ran off with another man. The man is Edgar Bronfman Jr. An 11th hour move has seen Time Warner sold to Bronfman, the former owner of Universal Music. Bronfman paid around $2.4 billion for his new record player. Time Warner's assets include the Warner, Elektra and Atlantic labels and artists currently charting include Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Matchbox Twenty, Linkin Park and Michael Buble. Bronfman has already announced he will streamline the business. That is expected to mean various labels within the Warner Empire with amalgamate shortly. In Los Angeles, the Elektra and Atlantic offices will become one from next month. It has been widely speculated that Elektra and Atlantic would merge regardless of the outcome of the buyer. While the company is officially saying next months relocation is simply a cost saving exercise for office space, insiders say the two labels will be the first to become one. In Australia, all labels operate as one unit already. Bronfman's changes are only expected to affect the USA and UK branch of the company short-term. The Bronfman deal is expected to be finalized in January. Source: chester-bennington.com
