Here is my latest. I would like to say I'm not very proud of this one. My goal with it was to use some more advanced vocabulary, and I just through in as much as possible to get a grasp on using it. This poem is more practice, but I thought I'd post it here anyways, as feedback can never hurt. Without further ado, here it is: Untouchable So vividly I remember Sitting alone, smothered in darkness Asphyxiated by your infinite absence And, as the apex of my love for you Dragged me into abject loneliness I was seized by a revelation A swift catharsis brought the key to my freedom And, in this divine callousness, This cessation of emotion I defeated the need to deify you And, slowly, I began to dissociate with those close But, while growing coy, I held no distain for you No animosity towards friends or family My emotions disowned Exsanguinate my heart Proudly discarnate, emotionally ethereal Untouchable Now, freed from the indelible, The need to imbrue myself with affection Ascended beyond a maelstrom of malevolent infatuation Internally monolithic, but omnipotent over myself Able to perambulate you A phoenix dead and reborn Reprehend your resplendence For not a shard of my tainted heart remains in my chest An eternity of conflict has passed, and you’ve been subdued Static, stagnate, unable to veer me The world has grown helpless in its tangibility For no amount of vivacity could interfere with the preternatural With my sovereignty forever ingrained into my essence No amount of rapture can replace my freedom
